Tahirih Justice Center is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting immigrant women and girls fleeing gender-based violence. Founded in 1997, Tahirih provides free legal and social services to survivors, ensuring they secure their rights and rebuild their lives in safety. Their holistic approach combines legal representation with social services, policy advocacy, and training to address and prevent violence.

Tahirih's legal team offers assistance with gender-based asylum applications, Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) petitions, T visas, U visas, and Special Immigrant Juvenile Status. They also provide support in family and civil courts as needed. Social services include referrals to food pantries, emergency housing, medical care, public benefits, employment and vocational classes, safety planning, counseling, and mental health screenings.
By amplifying the experiences of immigrant survivors, Tahirih's mission is to create a world in which all people share equal rights and live in safety and with dignity.
