San Pablo City Attorney

San Pablo City Attorney serves as the chief legal counsel to the City of San Pablo, California. Appointed directly by the City Council, the City Attorney is responsible for directing and administering the City's legal affairs. The office provides legal advice to the City Council, City Boards and Commissions, City Departments, City officials, and City staff. It represents the City in litigation, administrative hearings, and other legal matters, oversees work done by outside counsel on behalf of the City, and administers all claims filed against the City. Additionally, the office provides risk management services in conjunction with the City's Risk Manager, administers all restitution claims asserted by the City, including restitution ordered by the Courts, reviews contracts and insurance, monitors responses to Public Records Act requests and Subpoenas, drafts and reviews Council staff reports, resolutions, ordinances, leases, deeds, and other legal documents, and assists the City in negotiating complex agreements.
