The mission of the Office of County Counsel is to provide the highest quality legal representation and advice, assisting the County through its governing Board of Supervisors and other departments to promote the public service objectives of Mendocino County, while protecting the County from risk and loss.

Public Information

The Office of County Counsel does not provide legal advice to the general public. For personal injury or property damage claims against the County, individuals must file a claim with the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors at 501 Low Gap Road, Room 1010, Ukiah, CA 95482. Due to complex laws and short deadlines, it is advisable to seek the services of an attorney for personal protection. Presenting the claim without delay is essential. For additional information, refer to Government Code Section 910 et. seq.
