High Desert Detention Center, located at 9438 Commerce Way, Adelanto, CA 92301, is a state-of-the-art facility that opened in January 2006 to address the need for additional space in the Bureau of Detention and Corrections. As the first Type II facility in the High Desert region, it houses over 2,100 inmates and is staffed by a dedicated team of over 200 safety, general, and medical employees.
Committed to providing a secure, safe, and humane environment, the High Desert Detention Center operates in full compliance with California State Corrections Standard Authority regulations. Their goal is to ensure community protection by maintaining a just and secure environment for the inmate population.
