The City of Berkeley City Attorney's Office is dedicated to providing the highest caliber legal services and advice to the City of Berkeley. Our mission is to protect and defend the interests of this dynamic city through all legal and ethical means. We offer professional legal advice to the Berkeley City Council and other city departments, prepare and review official city documents, laws, and regulations, and represent the city in litigation matters.
Our Services
Our office specializes in Municipal Law, focusing on legal issues pertinent to city governance and operations. We do not provide legal advice to individuals; however, we can direct you to resources for private legal assistance, including the State Bar of California Lawyer Referral Service, Alameda County Bar Referral Service, Alameda County Superior Court Self-Help Center, and California Courts Online Self-Help Center.
